MILLMERRAN MUSEUM
... proudly maintained by the Millmerran & District Historical Society Inc.
ENTRANCE: 24 Charlotte Street Millmerran Q 4357

Step back in time and experience life as it was. Packed with thousands of historical objects and exhibitions, the Millmerran Museum has often been described as "one of the best in Queensland". A participating Museum in the Toowoomba Region Transport Heritage Trail, it features fourteen historical buildings spread over an acre of leafy grounds; extensive displays including a early to mid century School House, "Water Baby" Exhibit, Farming, Military, Life as Pioneer Woman, Indigenous Artefacts, the extraordinary Ron Houston collection... and so much more.
Perhaps set aside a number of hours! Have a BYO cuppa or lunch on our Picnic Tables. Unfortunately, we have some areas which are not wheel-chair accessible as most of our old buildings require steps to enter.

LATEST NEWS: The Western Creek Rabbit fence boundary rider's hut was removed by the Rabbit Board as their lease will not be renewed. The hut was featured in the Western Creek Internment Camp book and on our Touring Map of the region to visit historic sites. We are now negotiating the future of the Gray's Gate hut and will keep you updated.
Exciting update: We have been given the green light to jointly manage the Gray's Gate Boundary Rider's Rabbit Hut now that we have public liability insurance covered. Repairs will be undertaken early next year, a history sign erected, and the grounds cleaned up with a picnic table for visitors. A big win for us to have this modest but important piece of Millmerran's heritage preserved and managed by the community's Historical Society.
Stay tuned for official opening announcement.
Here is the unedited RAW file interview with Kamii Maguire on ABC Qld Radio about why we need to preserve our historic buildings, however humble they may be:
